After this edit, most manuscripts are ready for a line edit.
Once the structure of the story is in place, it is ready for a line edit. This edit corrects grammar and punctuation while keeping an eye on continuity, voice, pacing, and clarity of the story.
After this edit most manuscript are ready to query agents and editors.
A polishing edit that corrects grammar and punctuation according to industry standards (Chicago Manual of Style), catches inconsistencies, and fact checks.
The edit is recommended for indie publishers but won’t be necessary for those choosing to publish traditionally.
